Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has made the classification as- the 130 districts to be included in Red Zone, 284 in Orange Zone and 319 districts in Green zone based on the number of cases,  cases increased during lockdown, testing and results. Government has announced that the red zone city can be shifted to green zone if it has no new cases during the lockdown. The government has made exemptions to the districts based on the zonal classification.

According to the Ministry of Home Affairs, some of the public services like creating birth, income or birth certificate are allowed to resume. As there is no district classification in Delhi, liquor shops will remain closed until the classification is made based on wards. Along with this, spas, salons, complexes, malls will also remain closed during the lockdown.

Let’s understand what these zones refer to-

  • Green Zone–It includes the districts that do not have any cases of Coronavirus till yet.
  • Orange Zone –All the districts that have less number of cases and have not recorded any new case for a while are included in Orange zone. Public transport and crops harvesting is allowed in this zone.
  • Red Zone –The areas where number of COVID-19 positive cases are more are included in this and the ones which have recorded cases to increase faster are also included.

Right on the first day of third phase of lockdown, streets have encountered my refund vehicles and some has even argued for the passes.
