TCS, Infosys, and Cognizant to double the hike

Previous to this year, IT companies had delayed salary hike, as there was improbability amidst the pandemic. But being a business that has picked up itself in the year’s second half, many IT companies gave increase with influence from last year or earlier this year. But now with competition for talent intensifying, most of the IT companies are rewarding their employees with a salary increase and promotions this time.

A report published in Times of India said, Accenture India, which has more than 2 lakh employees, had given hikes in December last year and again in February, it declared pay hikes, bonuses, and promotions as well. “In April, all our people up with associate director level got a one-time ‘thank you bonus’ equal to one week of base pay for their endowments during this tough year,” the publication quoted Accenture India as saying. In December last year, Accenture internationally promoted 605 people to MD, and 63 people to senior MD, including a proof proportion of women.

Infosys had given hikes efficient January, after putting them on hold for most of the last financial. It is performing another review depending on last year’s productivity, and the salary increase based on this effective from July. Both reimbursement reviews are pertinent to employees’ crossways levels. The two hikes simultaneously will be 10-14%.

This step taken by Infosys came into action after TCS, which gave hikes to its employees within a six-month gap. TCS has provided increments to all staff across effective April. Wipro CEO, Thierry Delaporte, said that measures are in effect to make sure the supply chain does not slow down its speed of progression and it includes the distribution of “much-deserved” salary hikes for the senior colleagues in June. The portion of the hikes is yet to be defined.

HCL, which usually offers salary hikes effective by July, had delayed it by one-quarter last year. But this year it anticipates returning to the customary cycle. The Chief HR officer Apparao V V said “On an average, we rolled out 7-8% hikes last year, but those were higher at the bottom of the pyramid”.
