On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel celebrated as Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day, PM Modi made his presence at the Statue of Unity in Kevadia. Iron Man or Sardar Patel, was born on 31st October 1875 and today on the anniversary the day is being celebrated with the same pomp and joy that is observed on the Republic Day.
At 8 pm in the morning, PM Modi first visited the “Statue of Unity” to pay homage to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the anniversary. Then he attended the Rashtriya Ekta Diwas parade and then addressed the stand of India on terrorism and stressed the importance of Unity. On Friday, PM Narendra Modi even inaugurated a Zoological park (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Zoological Park) widely known as “Jungle Safari” created in the memory of Iron man. He also shared a tweet today earlier in the morning stating, “Humble commemoration to Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the pioneer of national unity and integrity, on his birth anniversary.
He even inaugurates “Ekta Mall”, “Children Nutrition Park”, and “Arogya Van” in Kevadia itself. “Arogya Van” is a forest giving shelter to thousands of herbs and plants with medicinal value.
Prime Minister even interact with the Civil Services trainees virtually and mentioned that they are the one having the “huge responsibility” of the country on their shoulders at least for the upcoming 25 years. He said, “You are the officers who will be serving the country when it celebrates 100 years of Independence. From 2022, the 25 years ahead are very important for the country. You have a huge responsibility”

The day is celebrated to rewind and recollect the works and participation Sardar Patel has made in our history. Sardar Vallabhbhai was designated as 49th President of Indian National Congress and he promoted the “Quit India Movement”.
