Micromax is planning to riposte in the Indian smartphone industry with the launch of its new series before Diwali. CEO Rahul Sharma informed the series that would be known as “In series” will present a smartphone that will deliver its customers “the value for their money”. The most recent phone launched by this Gurugram based mobile phone company was in October the previous year. A few days back, Rahul shared a video mocking the phones where he emphasized violence at the borders to be the reason for this phone.
Rahul Sharma, CEO of Micromax told, “You’ll see the launch before the festival season”. Micromax has planned up to bring the “In series” phones in the budget ranging from Rs 7000 to Rs 25000. The company with ultra affordable smartphones said that they have no plans to bring any phone below Rs 7000.
Rahul said, “We might not be getting into the Rs. 5,000 segments right now because that segment is also shrinking in the country. People are looking for more performance-oriented products”.
Well everyone knows that there is a big demand growth in India for the products made only in India. Micromax is also like other brands that will need to bring the components from other parts of the world but it was one of those brands that started assembling their products in India, which is helping to drop the prices for customers.
No bloatware and no ads
The most important concern that Micromax wants to treat with In series is serving the experience like that of Android to its users. They are aiming at Chinese smartphone brands like Vivo, Realme, Xiaomi, etc. who are offering mobile phones with customized operating systems. Rahul Sharma said, “For us, it will be a very-very clean experience — absolutely near-stock Android experience”. “No bloatware, no ads nothing. We’re [also]not going to take your data; we’re not going to do it.”
