Super talented actress Trimala Adhikari will now be seen in the film Kamra of Aneek Chaudhuri. She got fame with the film Haramkhor where she was in lead and played the role opposite to Nawazuddin Siddiqui. Her filmy career begins in 2012 with the film Hansa of Manav Kaul and after that, she was seen in the many films like Garbage, Bhasmasur and the acclaimed short, Afternoon Clouds. Many of her films have been also nominated in the Berlin Film Festival, Festival De Cannes and MIAMI.
“l came to know of her through Payal Kapadia’s short Afternoon Clouds which was in Cannes in 2017. I got a few glimpses of her through it and then I was rather impressed by her performance in Haramkhor (also starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui). I found it to be extremely tough to establish herself opposite Nawazuddin, but she did great. She was the one who almost overpowered the other actors Garbage was a usual Q piece but I really liked Trimala’s performance in it,” said Qaushiq Mukherjee, director of Garbage.
In the upcoming film Kamra, she is playing a character of girl which is divided into two pieces-as a 14-year-old and a 26-year-old.”Initially, we thought that of roping in a kid to perform the role but I was not quite convinced with the similarities in looks with that of a 26 year-old person. I needed an exact clone that would help the audience to form a sense of empathy with the character. However, Trimala was brave enough to suggest this, and we thought that yes this could be it. This was the thing we were looking for. Though it will be a great challenge, but we will make sure, things work out”
Film ‘Kamra’ meaning a room is a story of bonding which takes place in a room. It narrates the story of growing up and exploring the things that are likely to change the course of the unknitted relationship. Prachi Kannodia is the producer of this bilingual (Bengali) film and will be on the floors soon.
