Fire erupts in the engine along with other two compartments of a Saharanpur-Delhi passenger train going from Saharanpur to Delhi at Daurala railway station near Meerut today. According to the officials from the railway department, the fire arises due to a short circuit but fortunately, there were no injuries or causalities. The train arrived at Daurala station by 7.10 AM. After the fire began suddenly in the coaches, the passengers started evacuating out of the other coach. However, the fire caught the complete coach. Thereafter, the fire engine reached the spot at Daurala railway station and put out the fire.

Due to the fire caught in the train, the railway service has been influenced in the route Delhi-Meerut. There were many important trains scheduled in the morning to go to Dehradun and Delhi via Meerut just like the Delhi-Dehradun Shatabdi express which was terminated in the station in Meerut city. Besides, the Shalimar Express train was suspended near Sakauti station. At the same time, Nauchandi Express from Prayagraj to Meerut and Saharanpur has also been interrupted at the city station. There were many other trains along with these that have also been stopped at Muzaffarnagar and Khatauli station.
Shatabdi Express going from Delhi to Dehradun was kept waiting for an hour 43 minutes. After this, Shatabdi Express was diverted towards Dehradun. The operation of other trains from Meerut to Muzaffarnagar resumed at 10:30 AM.
