Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is a self-styled godman of the Bageshwar Dham, who received death threats, and has registered a case against the unknown person. According to the Superintendent of Police (SP) Sachin Sharma, “A case under 506 and 507 sections of the Indian Penal Code was registered against an unknown person in Chhatarpur`s Bamitha police station. He further added that the accused is yet to be identified.
Who is Dhirendra Shastri?
Dhirendra Shastri is a 1996-born, 26-year-old self-styled godman belonging to Madhya Pradesh. Shastri is a lead priest at Bageshwar Dham temple in Chhattarpur Madhya Pradesh. He got into headlines after he made a remark, “support me and I will give you a Hindu nation”. He is also popular as Bageshwar Dham Sarkar. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri completed his high school and higher secondary studies in Ganj village. Later, he took his BA degree. It is said that his early years went into poverty. He is widely known to organize the “Ghar Wapasi” of many.
Earlier to that, Shastri issued a warning stating that “Any priest, preacher, or person who oppugns the Sanatan Dharma will get a good reply.” He further appealed to his followers, “But then I am also saying, if you stand by me, I will give you a Hindu nation. On January 20, an organization from Maharashtra challenged him to show his power through miracles at a Ramkatha event held in Nagpur.
In response to this, Shastri said that “Such people will keep coming. We do not operate within closed doors. They should come and see it for themselves. Anyone can question my words and moves on camera. Over lakhs of people come to the court of Bageshwar Dham Balaji. Whatever encourages me, I will continue to write and whatever I write, will prove to be true. I have complete faith in my God.”
