Due to the growing outbreak of COVID-19 virus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi summoned a video conference meeting today on 11th April, with the Chief Ministers of all the states. During the meeting, he enquired about the current condition of pandemic of the different states. Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal also requested to increase the period of lockdown till 30th April.
After the Markaz event, the number of effected patients is increasing with a rapid rate. To control the pandemic, Delhi government has sealed around 30 hotspots of the pandemic.“The vital decision to continue the lockdown period should be taken on a national level.If the states decide the duration of the lockdown on their own, then the fight against the novel coronavirus won’t be effective”,statedby the Delhi Chief Minister.
Prime Minister said that, “Jaan Hai To Jahan Ha”. When I had addressed the whole nation, I had said that to save the life of every citizen, lockdown and social distancing are very essential. Most of the people have understood this situation and are staying at home”.
The government of Punjab and Odisha has already extended the period of lockdown in their states till 30th April. The Health Ministry even stated that if there would have been no lockdown, India might have faced over 8.2 lakhs of cases.
