Traffic Violation Fines of Motor Vehicles Bill 2019

Finally, an initiative of improving road safety has been converted into the rule. India’s 30-year Motor Vehicles Bill has been amended and passed with a majority. On July 31, Rajya Sabha has passed the Motor Vehicles (Amendment) Bill, 2019 which was pending for the approval from two years. Lok Sabha has passed the bill on 10th April 2017 and only waiting for the approval of the upper house.

On this Nitin Gadkari, Minister of Road Transport & Highways said “ The much-needed amendments will improve road safety, facilitate citizens in their dealings with transport departments, strengthen rural transport, public transport and last-mile connectivity through automation, computerisation and online services,”
