Box office collection of Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani’s film Kabir Singh is set to cross the 200 crores. After collecting Rs 134.42 crore in the first week, now quickly moving forward to achieve 200 crores. Kabir Singh made Rs 9.07 crore on Monday, July 1, making a total of 190.64 crores. The film is expected to cross Rs 200 crore on Tuesday. The film is released in 3123 screens across India and still going strong at the single screens and multiplexes.
The film is a remake of Telugu film Arjun Reddy is the fourth biggest opener of the Bollywood in India. With the success of the film both the leading stars on cloud nine. The happiness is seen on their faces as recently Shahid has posted a pic with her co-actress Kiara Advani and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga where they are celebrating their opening weekend collection.
However, the blockbuster Kabir Singh has faced the negative reviews of the critics for presenting and motivating the toxic masculinity.
After giving the 1.5 stars out of 5 India Today reviewer Ananya Bhattacharya wrote, “Kabir Singh spends 120 minutes of its 154 in showing Kabir either drinking or drunk or snorting cocaine or needling in morphine or fighting with people or, slapping his girlfriend or screaming at her. Or making out. In the remaining 24 minutes, his repentance is done with, and we all go home with a happy ending. If you think it is okay if you think it is justified because ‘movie hai yaar, it’s not real life’, you are part of the problem. Misogyny is not cool. Neither is Kabir Singh.”
Well, whatever the reviews, critics have given to the film but the reality is that it’s the 4th blockbuster of 2019 and also the best film in the 16 years of the filmy career of Shahid Kapoor. In fact, Kiara Advani has also gained strong popularity after the film.
