India is excited to celebrate its first National Space Day on August 23, 2024. Today is the one-year anniversary of a historic event that occurred on August 23, 2023: the successful landing of ISRO’s Vikram Lander from Chandrayaan-3 on the moon.
India became the fourth country to set foot on the moon and the first to reach the southern polar zone of the moon after this historic occurrence.
