On Tuesday the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) informed, the extremely harsh cyclonic storm, Tauktae, which had hit the Gujarat coastal area the previous night has begun weakening into a ‘Very’ stern cyclonic typhoon. The weather department mentioned that the landslide process of the Tauktae finished at midnight around 12 am. The Indian Meteorological Department tweeted, “The entire eye of the cyclone has now crossed the coast and lies over land. The rear sector of the eye is now entering the land”. The cyclone carried some breezy winds and intense rains on the whole coastal belt, displacing the trees in areas of Junagadh, Amreli, and Bhavnagar districts. The local meteorological center said the cyclone will now proceed to northern Gujarat and will ultimately deteriorate. More than two lakh people have been shifted to different safer places.
