Babri Masjid demolition case verdict today

Special Central Bureau of Investigation court will give the verdict on “Babri Masjid demolition” today. Almost 3 decades have passed, after the 16th century’s structure of the monument was wrecked by a mob in Ayodhya a town of U.P on 6th December 1992. The prime accused of the case are leaders from BJP including L.K. Advani, Uma Bharti, Murli Manohar Joshi and former CM of UP Kalyan Singh. All of these leaders are expected to attend the court proceedings via video conference because of the spread of Coronavirus pandemic.

The renowned CBI judge SK Yadav has arrived to the court and he had directed all the 32 accused in the demolition case including Lallu Singh, Vednati, Vinay Katiyar, Pawan Pandey and Dharamdas to be present in the court for hearing. They have been charged for doing the conspiracy along with the existing demolition charge for provoking the animosity between people from groups of different religion. Back in the years, CBI had filed the case against a group of 41 members, out of which 17 have died during the court trial.

Later to the demolition that occurred, two cases were filed at the “Ram Janamabhoomi” police station of the Faizabad.

First of the two was filed around 5:15 pm by the SHO P.N. Shukla against some “kar sevaks” under the IPC section 395(robbery), 397(robbery with attempt to cause death), 332(causing hurt to public servant), 337, 338, 295, 297, and 153-A. Police also filed a case for Section 7 from the Criminal Law Amendment Act.

SI Ganga Prasad Tiwari, in-charge of the “Ram Janamabhoomi” police outpost, filed another FIR after 10 minutes. It was against 8 persons including influential BJP leaders, L K Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Ashok Singhal (deceased), Giriraj Kishore (deceased), Vishnu Hari Dalmia (deceased), Vinay Katiyar, Uma Bharti and Sadhvi Ritambhara. The case was filed under the IPC section 153-A, 153-B, and 505. From December 6-21 police filed 47 more FIRs for assaulting and robbing the media officials.
