In a shocking incident, the bodies of two young siblings, aged seven and eight, were discovered inside a wooden box at a factory in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar. The children had gone missing the day before, as confirmed by DCP (southeast) Rajesh Deo.
According to Deo, a call was received at the Jamia Nagar police station reporting the finding of the deceased children at House No F2, Joga Bai extension. Upon investigation, it was revealed that the bodies of the two children—a boy and a girl—had been found in an old wooden box.
Preliminary inquiries suggest that the children had lunch with their parents at around 3 pm and went missing approximately half an hour later, around 3:30 pm. The children’s father, identified as Balbir, works as a security guard at the same factory where their tragic discovery was made, added the police officer.
A thorough examination by the crime team revealed no signs of external injury on the bodies, leading investigators to believe that the cause of death was accidental asphyxia, likely resulting from being inside the wooden box.
The shocking incident has left the local community and authorities deeply saddened and concerned. The police have initiated a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the tragic deaths of the two young siblings. Further details are awaited as the investigation unfolds.
This heartbreaking event serves as a stark reminder of the need for vigilance in ensuring the safety and well-being of children, and it highlights the importance of timely intervention and support for families in distress.
