A young Tunisian guy carrying Quran in his hands, armed with a knife attacked worshippers in a French Church on Thursday and killed three people. Seeing the incident the govt. has raised the security alerts to the maximum. This attack in Nice was encountered for the third time in two months that has caused the French authorities to charged the Muslim agitators. The charges include the beheading of a teacher who showed imitations of Prophet Muhammad in a class later to the republishing of the images by a satirical newspaper aimed in the 2015 attack.
Video cameras have recordings of the man entering the Nice train station at 6:47 a.m., where he was changing his footwear and reversed his coat and then headed for the church, which is around 400 meters (yards) away, just before 8:30 a.m. He remained there for over 30 minutes until the police entered from the side entrance. Prosecutor Jean-Francois Ricard said, “after advancing down a corridor they came face-to-face with (the attacker) whom they neutralized”. The people present there heard the culprit crying “Allahu Akbar” while advancing the police. Police then fired upon him using their service revolvers after using electric guns and Ricard informed that 14 of the bullet cases were found on the ground.
As per the details shared by Ricard, “the culprit was carrying Quran, a holy book, two mobile phones and a knife with blade 17cm long and a bag containing two more knives that were not used in the attack.
The victims involved a 60-year-old woman who suffered from “a very deep throat-slitting, like a decapitation,” he said, and a 55-year-old man suffered deep, fatal throat cuts. The third victim, who was a 44-year-old woman, managed to escape from the church alive but unfortunately died at a nearby restaurant.
Ricard informed that “they were killed as they were present in the Church then.” The investigation involved charges for murder and attempt to murder with a terrorist enterprise, commonly used terms in such issues.
