Students drizzling back to schools in states after 6 months, J&K also a part of list

It was the time of March end when first lockdown was imposed and schools were closed keeping in mind of the consequences else Covid-19 could have later on. From Monday, the some of the states have allowed the schools to get reopen. Only seven of the all 29 states and one Union Territory have currently permitted to re-open the school from 21st September for the students of standard 9 and above as per the Centre’s Unlock 4 guidelines.

Due to the concern people have against Coronavirus, the attendance on the first day of reopening was recorded to be very low. The other states are still pondering over the decision to re-open the schools because of the adverse effects it can cause. K Chanda, Principal of south Point School of Guwahati said that students from class IX and XII who has attended the school is less than 10%. He also added, “Many guardians are looking at the response recorded on the first day”.

Atanu Chakraborty, a student from class XII from Railway Higher Secondary School, Maligaon, Assam said, “Online classes are on so why take a chance”. Same was the story of states including Meghalaya, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, J&K, and Haryana where schools have been reopened.
