Rajya Sabha suspended 8 of his members today for 1 week including Derek O’Brien, TMC leader later to the day witnessing protest from the opposition party members during the passage of farm bills. A notice was also rejected by the Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu for the motion of no confidence against Deputy Chairman Harivansh for not following the proper required procedures. Chairman denounces the unruly behaviour to the deputy chairman while the farm bill was in passage.
Later to that a suspension notice of eight members was read by the Minister of Parliamentary affairs. Chairman Naidu was the one to put the notice to the voice vote. The protest by the opposition members lead to the adjournment of proceedings for about 20 minutes.
Rajya sabha passed the two most important farm bills on Sunday that are considered as the biggest reform in agriculture. The bills have been passed with the voice vote amidst the protesting scenes done by the opposition.
