It has been 12 years since the attack in Mumbai on 26th November 2008, when ten Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists from Pakistan arrived in Mumbai through the sea route besieged the city for more than 60 hours continuously. They liberated the chaos in the city after killing over 166 people including 18 of the security staff.
Nine terrorists were killed on the spot but one Ajmal Kasab who was captured alive was hanged four years later on 21st November 2012. The terrorists made their attack on the famous and populous hubs of Mumbai including the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Cafe Leopold, Shivaji Terminus Railway Station, and Oberoi Trident Hotel.
Devika Rotawan is the youngest survivor of the attacks and a key witness of the incident. She is the one who recognized the terrorist Mohammed Ajmal Kasab in the trial. She has recently taken admission in BA in Chetna College, Bandra aspires to join the civil services. Devika was just nine years old during the attacks. It has been 12 years since the 26/11 attack and she still doesn’t have any permanent accommodation which she can call her own. She has filed a petition in which she has claimed that the govt. officials assured her of financial support for her education and medical treatment.
Top industrialist of India, Ratan Naval Tata has shared a note on the 12th anniversary of the 26/11 attack. He wrote, “Today, we certainly can mourn the ones we lost and honor the sacrifice of the brave who helped conquer the enemy, but what we must applaud, is the unity and the acts of kindness and sensitivity which we should cherish, and which hopefully, will continue to shine in the years ahead”.

The restoration of the hotel was done several months after the attacks even it was reopened just a month later. Over 31 people had died in the devastation caused.
